About
Rajasthan
HistoryThe history of Rajasthan
dates back to the time immemorial. Archaeological and historical evidences reveal
that 100, 000 years ago there was human habitation in this area.
Between
the 7th and the 11th century AD, several dynasties surfaced in the region. Among
them, Rajput strength reached its peak at the beginning of the 16th century.
During
the Mughal period, Emperor Akbar brought the Rajput states into the Mughal Empire.
By early 19th century, they allied with the Marathas.
Later, the British

Indian freedom struggle.
When the new constitution was introduced in 1950,
Rajput princes surrendered their powers to the Indian Union and with that Rajsthan
