Ajmer Located
in the heart of the desert of Rajasthan, Ajmer offers a spellbinding fusion of
the Sufi culture and Hindu religion. The city was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan
in the 7th Century AD and continued to be a major center of the Chauhan power
till 1193 AD when Prithviraj Chauhan lost it to Mohammed Ghauri.

The
Dargah of Khwaja, Ajmer The Dargah is revered among the people from
all faiths. It is the splendid tomb of the Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti
and is next only to Mecca or Medina for the Muslims of the subcontinent.
Adhai
Din Ka Jhopda, Ajmer It presents a breathtaking example of the excellence
of Indo-Islamic architectural styles. It was originally a Sanskrit college, built
within a temple. In 1193 AD. Mohammed Ghauri conquered Ajmer and converted the
building into a mosque by adding a seven arched wall in front of the pillared
hall in just two-and-half days (adhai-din) and hence the name.
Taragarh
Fort in Ajmer Taragarh Fort, perched on a hill, is another major
tourist attraction among the tourists. It offers an excellent view of the city.
One can have an excellent view of the city. The fort was the site of the military
activity during the Mughal period, later used as a sanatorium by the British.
