Bundi
Bundi
was always vibrant with activity. Its history was eventful and this resulted in
the construction of forts and palace with different architectural styles. The
historical town of Bundi is also endowed with natural beauty, with the Aravalli
hills surrounding it on three sides.

places of interest include Taragarh or the Star Fort (built in the 14th century,
the fort has a huge reservoir that once supplied water to the palace), the Palace
(a symbol of the Rajput architectural splendor), Chhattar Mahal (the Palace of
Towers) and Eighty-four Pillared Cenotaph (an awesome cenotaph with eighty-four
pillars).
Chittourgarh
Chittaurgarh
resonates with tales of romance and passion, chivalry and heroism. This battle
scarred city was defeated and destroyed three times, men died on the battlefield
and women committed mass suicide by jumping into a huge funeral pyre to save their
dignity.
Places of Interest in Chittaurgarh The prime attractions
are the Chittaurgarh Fort (built in the 7th century, it spans 700 acres and encircles
magnificent examples of Rajput architecture including Rana Kumbha's Palace and
Rani Padmini's Palace), Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory), Kirti Stambh (Tower of
Fame) and Kalika Mata Temple (built in the 8th century as the Sun Temple, it was
dedicated to the Kali, the goddess courage and power).
Churu
Founded
in the early 17th century, Churu is famous for its glorious "havelis"
(mansions). These exhibit the well known architectural brilliance of the Rajputs
and are the homes to splendid life size paintings.

in Churu The places of interest include Salasar Balaji (houses a temple
that is definitely worth a visit as Lord Balaji is said to fulfill the desires
of devotees), Ratangarh (an imposing fort, built in the early 19th century), Surana
haveli (the mansion with more than a thousand doors and elegant windows), Kothar
Haveli (built in 1915) and Kanhayya Lal Bagla Haveli (built in 1870).
