Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is a very famous national park located in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. Kaziranga National Park is one such national park in the world, which is famous for the largest population (two-thirds) of one-horned rhinoceros. According to the census in March 2015, there were about 2,401 rhinos in Kaziranga National Park. This national park has been declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. This park is also called the home of Indian tigers.
Kaziranga National Park History
On 1 June 1905, an area of 232 square kilometres was made the Kaziranga Proposed Reserve Forest. This place was declared a reserve forest in 1908. It was renamed Kaziranga Game Reserve in 1916. Later in the year 1950, this park was made Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary. In 1968, the Assam National Park Act was passed and Kaziranga was declared a national park. On 11 February 1974, this park got official recognition from the Indian government. Please tell that the name of Kaziranga National Park is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Animals In Kaziranga National Park
The one-horned rhinoceros, wild water buffalo (Wild Water Buffalo) and eastern swamp deer in Kaziranga National Park are famous for being the most populated in the world. Altogether 35 mammal species are found in this national park, but 15 of them are now in danger. Apart from this, other animals found in Kaziranga include elephant, gaur, sambar, wild boar, Bengal fox, golden jackal, sloth bear, Indian montjack, Indian grey nebula, and small Indian nebula. Along with this, one-horned rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, Asiatic elephant and royal Bengal tiger are found the most. In Kaziranga, there is one tiger per 5 sq km. In addition, the park has a population of 118 feral cats.
If we talk about the birds found in Kaziranga, then these include white-fronted goose, ferruginous duck, bare pochard duck, black-necked stork, Asian openbill cork, Blyth’s kingfisher, white-bellied heron, Dalmatian pelican, spotted- Contains the names of the builds. Three species of vultures are found in this national park. Whose names are the Indian Vulture (Indian Vulture), Slender Vulture (Cylinder Build Vulture), and Indian White Vulture.
